Conforte, David
(1618-C.90)
   Greek rabbi and literary historian. He was born in Salonica. He founded a bet midrash in Jerusalem, and served as rabbi in Cairo. His Kore ha-Dorot is a chronicle of authors and works from post-talmudic times until the 17th century.
